Product Description

Description

Forced Circulation Evaporation Plants are designed to prevent fouling and crystallization during liquor boiling by maintaining a relatively high flow velocity within the heating tubes.

The circulating liquor is heated as it passes through the heat exchanger. It then enters a separator where a reduction in pressure causes partial evaporation, cooling the liquor to its boiling point at the corresponding pressure. During crystallization, crystals can be separated from the circulating slurry either by controlling the flow velocity or by employing a specially designed separator.

Particular Feature

  • Long operating periods, evaporation takes place in the separator, and fouling in the calandria is therefore minimised.
  • Optimised heat exchange surface, flow velocity in the tubes determined by the circulation pump.

Fields of Application

  • Liquid with a high tendency for fouling, highly viscous liquid, as the high-concentration step in multiple-effect evaporation plants.
  • Forced circulation evaporators are optimally suited as crystallising evaporators for Saline solutions. In the course of crystallization, the crystal can be separated out through the velocity of the circulating flow or a separator of special design.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a Forced Circulation Evaporator?
Forced Circulation Evaporation Plants are engineered systems designed to prevent fouling and crystallization during liquor boiling. They achieve this by maintaining a relatively high flow velocity inside the heating tubes.
How does the evaporation process work in these systems?
The circulating liquor is first heated as it passes through the heat exchanger. It then enters a separator where a reduction in pressure causes partial evaporation, cooling the liquor back to its boiling point.
What type of liquids are best suited for Forced Circulation Evaporators?
They are ideal for high-fouling and highly viscous liquids, and serve as the high-concentration step in multiple-effect evaporation systems. They are also widely used as crystallizing evaporators for saline solutions.
How do these plants prevent fouling and scaling?
By keeping the evaporation process restricted to the separator rather than the heating tubes (calandria) and maintaining high circulation velocity, fouling and scale accumulation are minimized.
What are the energy efficiency benefits of this system?
Through advanced heat exchange and optimized pump designs, the system significantly reduces overall energy, water, and steam consumption, lowering operating costs while maintaining performance.
