Industrial evaporation has transitioned into a new era driven by carbon-neutral mandates and electric grid efficiency. As a premier member of the China Starch and Alcohol Association, Jiangsu Zongheng Concentrating and Drying Equipment Co., Ltd (originally founded in 1992 as the Yixing Yangxi Light Industry Machinery Factory) has spearheaded the development of thermal-recompression systems. By utilizing advanced Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) and multi-effect falling film geometries, we minimize raw thermal inputs, driving system electrical operations to unprecedented COPs (Coefficient of Performance).
Operating under stringent CE Directives (PED 2014/68/EU) and certified with the ASME "U" Stamp, our concentration and drying designs offer process resilience for starch refining, food fermentation, bio-ethanol, waste treatment, and petrochemical processing. Our equipment is optimized to reduce steam demand, using electric energy to recycle latent heat of vaporization internally.

Electric-driven evaporation systems represent a massive departure from traditional fossil-fuel steam plants. By shifting thermodynamic inputs toward electricity, plants achieve high operational efficiency. Our core technologies address the specific challenges of liquid concentration, heat transfer efficiency, fouling prevention, and product preservation:
MVR systems operate by utilizing a high-efficiency centrifugal compressor (or roots blower) to mechanically compress the exhaust vapors generated within the boiling chamber. Compression elevates both the pressure and corresponding saturation temperature of the vapor. This compressed stream is then recycled back into the shell side of the heat exchanger to act as the primary heating medium, bypassing the need for continuous external steam generation. COP values regularly exceed 15, cutting carbon footprints drastically.
In a falling film configuration, the feed solution enters the top header of the vertical tube bundle. Through engineered distribution plates, a uniform, thin liquid film flows downward along the inner tube walls under gravity. External steam or recompressed vapor heats the tube exterior, causing rapid boiling within the film. The vapor and concentrated liquid flow downward in parallel, reducing residence times to seconds. This configuration is essential for heat-sensitive food, enzyme, and pharmaceutical proteins.
When processing high-viscosity products, crystal slurries, or wastewater containing high mineral content, scaling is highly likely. Forced circulation loops pump the feed liquid through the heat exchanger tubes at high velocities (typically 2-3 m/s). Boiling is suppressed within the tubes by static head pressure; vaporization occurs only when the liquid flashes into the separator body. This prevents scaling on the heat transfer surfaces and maintains high system availability.
| System Type | Energy Source | Specific Steam Consumption | Typical Applications | Fouling Resistance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MVR Evaporation Plant | Electricity (Compressor Drive) | 0.03 - 0.05 t/t evaporated water | Starch wastewater, DDGS, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) | Medium (Requires clean film dynamics) |
| Multi-Effect Falling Film | Steam (Thermal reuse) | 0.20 - 0.25 t/t (for 5 effects) | Glucose, fructose, high-purity milk products | Low to Medium (Sensitive to dry-out) |
| Forced Circulation Plant | Steam or MVR driven | Depends on compressor / configuration | Crystallizing salts, high viscosity chemical waste | High (Designed for high scaling slurries) |
| Waste Heat Evaporator | Flue gas / dryer steam streams | 0.00 (recovering waste streams) | DDGS drying cycles, refinery heat integration | Medium (Requires specialized heat exchanger materials) |
From our roots in Yixing's light machinery sector to becoming an ASME & CE certified supplier of heavy industrial concentration systems, our development timeline highlights our focus on reliability.

Acquired the ASME "U" Stamp, signaling international welding and pressure vessel engineering capability. This opened pathways to exporting chemical vessels directly to American and European markets.
Achieved further international quality standard certifications (Certificate No.: 45021). Developed comprehensive quality assurance protocols aligning international procurement with local fabrication tracking.
Currently, the company spans over 54,000 square meters, with workshops exceeding 22,000 square meters. The staff of 120 includes 3 senior engineers and over 20 engineers. We design integrated concentration lines for international customers under CE and ASME guidelines.
The future of industrial processing is electric. Our technology roadmap focuses on three main developments:
We are developing hybrid layouts that combine TVR (Thermal Vapor Recompression) and MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression). This design allows operators to handle fluctuating steam pressures and electrical power costs in real-time, switching energy inputs dynamically for lowest operational cost per ton of evaporated water.
Driven by environmental regulations, our systems are designed to recover clean water from industrial streams. Combining falling film pre-concentration with forced circulation crystallizers allows factories to achieve zero liquid waste while recovering valuable mineral byproducts.
By integrating precise temperature and pressure sensors with automated control loops, our systems adapt to changing feed concentration densities. This automated adjustment helps prevent fouling, dry-out, and compressor surging without manual intervention.
Located in Zhoutie Town, Yixing City, on the shores of Taihu Lake, our facility operates within an established industrial ecosystem for light machinery and pressure vessel manufacturing. This proximity ensures stable, high-quality sourcing of stainless steel plates, tubes, forged flanges, valves, and precision instrumentation.
Our raw materials are sourced from Tier-1 mills, backed by certified material test reports (MTRs) for tracking. Our vertically integrated production model—featuring plasma cutting, automated tube-to-tubesheet orbital welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT)—reduces lead times and keeps production costs competitive.
This strategic location allows us to deliver large-scale evaporative projects reliably, meeting tight project timelines for engineering firms and procurement teams worldwide.
Industrial processing requirements vary significantly by region due to local environmental rules, energy costs, and raw material types. Our systems are engineered to adapt to these regional variables:
European facilities face tight carbon emission controls and high natural gas costs, driving demand for fully electric MVR evaporators. Our CE-certified installations are designed to run on renewable grid energy, helping clients meet European Union decarbonization targets while ensuring full compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
For the North American agricultural and ethanol processing sectors, equipment must meet strict ASME Section VIII guidelines. Our ASME U-stamped tube bundle dryers and MVR evaporators are built to handle continuous, high-throughput loads, delivering reliable performance for industrial corn and grain processing.
In regions processing high volumes of cassava and starch, water consumption and wastewater discharge are primary concerns. Our starch washing cyclones and integrated evaporators allow plants to clean and recycle process water, reducing raw water intake and meeting local environmental standards.
Our equipment integrates into continuous industrial processing lines, handling everything from initial dewatering to final concentration and drying.
Designed for large-scale liquid concentration. These systems integrate with plant-wide DCS platforms, managing thermal loops to process corn steep liquor, starch syrup, and industrial wastewater efficiently.
Optimized for mechanical dewatering of fibrous materials before thermal drying. Reducing moisture content mechanically first significantly lowers downstream thermal energy requirements.
Engineered for continuous drying of bulk solids. These units utilize internal steam-heated tube bundles that rotate slowly through the product bed, providing uniform heat transfer and consistent output moisture.
Reliability in high-pressure and vacuum operations requires strict compliance with international manufacturing codes. Jiangsu Zongheng maintains a comprehensive quality control program, backed by certified welding procedures, non-destructive testing, and regular audits by third-party inspectors.
